What are your office hours?

We are open Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm, with extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 7pm for the convenience of our patients. We are also open on Saturdays from 8am until 12pm providing convenient hours for our patients that work during the week. ****Dr. Pelletier is available 24 hours a day for ocular emergencies. Please call the office at 207-363-7555 and you will be directed on what to do in case of emergency. Reasons to call include: sudden vision loss, flashes or floaters, eye pain, eye trauma,  and foreign bodies in the eye.

Can I be assured of total confidentiality? 

Yes!  Strict confidentiality is a priority in our practice. We fully understand our legal obligations to protect your privacy according to the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which is federal law. Feel free to ask us about any of your concerns regarding privacy and confidentiality.

Can you treat my whole family?

Yes! We treat everyone from newborn to geriatric patients. York Family Eyecare is eye care for your entire family.

How long will it take me to get an appointment?

We work hard to get you a same day appointment if at all possible. However, most visits can be scheduled within a week. Also remember, you do not a need an appointment to visit our optical boutique. You may walk-in whenever it is convenient for you and our optical staff will assist you.

I am scheduled for an eye exam. Will the exam be covered by my insurance?

Insurance benefits for routine and preventive exams vary from plan to plan. We would be happy to verify your benefits prior to services being rendered. Please let us know if you would like us to contact your insurance company to verify your coverage. 

Which insurance plans do you accept?

We participate in most HMO, PPO, and traditional insurance plans. You can check with your insurance plan to see if York Family Eyecare is listed as a provider. We also offer competitive rates for those patients without insurance. We pride ourselves on taking excellent care of our patients and will go the extra mile to see that they receive proper care. We do not accept VSP or IMED, however we do offer out-of-plan discounts. Please call us to discuss your options.

Do I need an appointment if I need my glasses repaired or adjusted?

No! Our optical boutique is available for walk-in patients as well as to the public. Our optical staff will do their best to be sure your glasses are comfortable and fit well.

 Do I need to be a patient to shop in your Optical Boutique?

No! Our Optical Boutique is available to our patients and to the public. You may call for an appointment or just walk-in. Our opticians will spend time with you to help you choose eyewear that meets your needs and is best suited for you.

What is your warranty policy on eyeglass lenses and frames?

York Family Eyecare guarantees all lenses and frames for one full year from date of purchase. Your complete satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not completely pleased with your purchase our optical staff will work with you at no cost until you are 100% satisfied.

What types of eyewear do you offer?

We carry a wide selection of eyeglass frames with the largest brand selection on the Seacoast. Styles range from traditional to contemporary, to suit all of our patients style preferences. We also carry a large selection of children's eyeglasses and sunglasses. In addition to eyeglasses, we offer readers, sunglasses, sports eyewear, and safety glasses. If there is an item that we don't have in stock, just let us know, and we would be happy to order it for you.
